Job Description
Prototype Engineer required, annual salary is £28-31K DOE, plus excellent benefits Full Time, Permanent based on site in Exeter, Devon. This will be working Monday to Friday 08.00am – 4.30pm.

Due to exciting growth, Wise Employment are seeking a Prototype Engineerfor one of our fast growing clients. This role will involve you working within a very innovative and exciting Research and Development Team.
You will be responsible for producing prototypes, production jigs, machined components and assembly fixtures. You will be required to work in connection with different teams such as; engineering, manufacturing, design and development in order to accurately produce prototypes for within the Electric, Gas and Biomass industries.
Prototype Engineer accountabilities:
- You will need to have a proven background within the production of prototypes which have been manufactured in both sheet metal and also materials with a thicker gauge
- Previous experience of welding with thick and thin gauge materials would be beneficial
- You will need to have experience using precision component machinery with both turning centres and milling machines and preferably experience also of machinery such as grinders
- You will be required to have a comprehensive understanding of principles and terminology that are used in designing sheet metal assemblies and assembly of technical drawings and producing prototypes within specific tolerances required
- You will work alongside the engineering team to produce jigs and fixtures which will aid the assembly of products produced within the manufacturing team
- Working to tight deadlines and delivering prototypes within an agreed timescale is required

- You will need to be a team player due to the different company teams you will be required to work alongside
