About Us

Recessions are widely considered poor economic environments to start a business. However, amid the early 1990s recession, husband and wife duo Keith and Janet Robinson opened the first Wise Employment branch in Swindon, Wiltshire. 

Despite their years of recruitment experience at a global agency, it was a big gamble. But, they believed that there was a market for a quality-driven and personable recruitment agency - and they were right! Through determination, passion and drive Keith and Janet grew Wise Employment into one of the largest independent recruitment agencies in the Southwest. 

From humble beginnings the company has grown organically, acquiring other employment businesses along the way to meet the changing needs of the industry and its clients.

Today, the Wise Recruitment Group comprises four brands, each covering different regions and specialising in different recruitment solutions:

  • Wise Employment — Specialising in a range of recruitment solutions including office and industrial.
  • Smart Recruitment — Supplying office and industrial staff to the Somerset and Dorset regions.
  • Elite Recruitment — Specialising in the provision of sales & marketing, financial, legal and office support staff.
  • Pro Education — Supplying teachers and teaching support staff to schools across the midlands and southwest.

The group has successfully weathered more than 30 years of ever-changing employment landscapes, recessions and a global pandemic in order to help local businesses and people find their ideal employment solution. 

While we have adapted to meet the needs of the times, our success has stemmed from a personable and comprehensive approach that has never wavered. Whether it's the supply of temporary or permanent staff, we take the time to understand the requirements of our clients to ensure they're being matched with people that can seamlessly fit into their unique environments. Meanwhile, we talk to our candidates to understand exactly what they're looking for to help them find their dream role.

"Since we opened our first branch in 1991, we have endured three recessions and a global pandemic, but there has never been a time when we have lost our passion and drive to support each and every one of our clients and candidates. Our 'can do' attitude has been a unique trait that has served us well for more than 30 years and we are proud of the reputation we have built in the industry."

So, what about the next 30 years? No one knows how the recruitment industry will look in the future, but we will continue to support our clients with their staffing requirements and work with our candidates to source them their perfect job.
