The Challenge

Alchemetrics deliver marketing database and bureau solutions that enable organisations to extract meaningful marketing intelligence from their customer data. They are a young, successful and award winning organisation, whose company culture places a high value on “having fun” as well as producing results.

Their success in winning new business meant that they needed to recruit four database analysts quickly. Because of the nature of the roles and the speed with which they needed to recruit, Alchemetrics wanted to advertise their vacancies on the web. However, without the resource of an HR Department, they needed help with response management to ensure a fast, courteous response to all candidates (at every stage of the process) and effective short-listing for immediate interview.

The Wise Solution

Response to the campaign was either by e-mail or telephone direct to Wise Employment. We appointed a Campaign Manager, who was trained to carry out a telephone questionnaire with all applicants to establish their technical knowledge in key areas. Results were measured against pre-agreed criteria and candidates who achieved a pass mark were invited to our office in Wokingham to meet our Campaign Manager and complete an assessment to establish a personality profile. These profiles were used to promote effective questioning at interview.

In addition to direct response generated by web advertising, specialist recruitment agencies were also keen to submit their candidates’ details. Wise negotiated acceptable fees with these suppliers and provided the same assessment process as for direct applicants.

Wise produced a short list for interview at Alchemetrics and arranged all interviews to an agreed timetable. We also ensured that unsuccessful candidates (at all stages) received courteous and prompt notification.

The Outcome

With Wise Employment’s support, Alchemetrics successfully filled all their vacancies within the required time frame, agreed budget and with minimum distraction from core business activities for key members of their staff.
